URDU TECHNOLOGICAL MISSION
 


National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) started functioning w.e.f. 01.04.1996 as an autonomous organisation under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. NCPUL has been set up with the objective of promoting, developing and progagating Urdu language, to take action for making available in Urdu language the knowledge of scientific and technological development as well as knowledge of ideas evolved in the modern context, to advise the Govt. of India on issues connected with Urdu language and having bearing on education and to undertake any other activity for the promotion of Urdu language.

 

DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS AND MULTILINGUAL DTP


The one year course “Diploma in Computer Applications and Multilingual DTP” has been designed for at transformation of Urdu speakers into productive human resource and making them part of the employable technological work force in the emerging Information Technology scenario and penetration of computer education to grass root level. Taking base as the  DOEACC ‘O’ level course contents, the contents have been enriched with programming techniques , developing database applications, accounting package, web designing tools, Urdu & Hindi DTP.

The contents have been designed so as a range of career options are possible for an individual after completing the course. The possible options includes:

  • Lab Demonstrator

  • Office Assistant
 

ORGANISATION OF THE COURSE

 

The total duration of the course will be 1000 hours. The course will be organized in two batches of 30 students at each computer centre (Batch I from  9.00 A.M. – 1.00 P.M. and Batch II from 2.00 – 6.00 P.M.). The course duration is four hours daily for each batch and total eight hours at a computer centre.  Out of each of these 4 hours, 2 hours for theory class and 2 hours for practical class shall be fixed.  Fifteen students will attend the theory class and 15 students will attend practical class simultaneously. The course has been structured as follows:

ORGANISATION OF HOURS FOR EACH MODULE
 

Module I        :      160 hrs.

Module II       :      180 hrs.
Module III      :      180 hrs.

Module IV      :      160 hrs.

Module V       :      170 hrs.

Module VI      :      150 hrs.

 

The day wise schedule shall be prepared for each module. The faculty will follow the same. 

 
EXAMINATION SCHEME
 
  1. A test will be conducted at the end of each module.  The question papers as well as answer sheets will be checked by the faculty of the centre.

 

  1. The weightage of above theory papers will be 10 marks each.  It is necessary to obtain a minimum of 6 marks for each module.

 

  1. Final examination of 70 marks will be conducted at the end of the course.  It will consist of objective type questions.  The question paper for IT Component will be prepared by DOEACC Centre, Chandigarh.  The question paper will be sent to the Centre in sealed envelopes and shall be opened under the supervision of External Examiner, Centre Incharge and Supervisor.

 

  1. A final practical examination of 25 marks will be conducted at the end of the course.

 

  1. An Urdu test of 25 marks shall also be conducted at the end of the course.  The question paper will be prepared by NCPUL.

 

  1. All answer sheets and response sheets of theory examination along with Diploma in Urdu answer sheet in separate envelope are to be sealed in the presence of External examiner, Centre Incharge, Supervisor and forwarded to Director, NCPUL, West Block-I, R.K. Puram, New Delhi- 110 066 by the next day positively through courier/registered parcel.  All unused question papers & response sheets are also to be return alongwith the sealed bundle.

 

  1. The project prepared by the students shall be examined by the External Examiner.  This covers 30 marks.

 

The break up of marks for the one year course is as below:

 

Theory examination at the end of each module               50 marks (10 marks each)

                                                                                          (Five modules)

Final Examination       Part-I   70 marks    [Subjective-35 marks, Objective - 35 marks]

Urdu Test “Inpage ”   Part-2   25 marks

Practical exam                     25 marks

Project                               30 marks

Total                                          200 marks

 

Student has to obtain minimum of 50% marks in final objective examination, Urdu Test and Practical Exam individually for qualifying the examination.

REAPPEARANCE IN EXAMINATION
 

A student who could not clear/appear in Compulsory Urdu Diploma Exam, Theory & Practical exams can also reappear in exams conducted by NCPUL at the end of July/October session.

 
LIBRARY
 

Student can also make use of the text and reference books available to them at their centre. 

 
AWARD OF DIPLOMA
 

Each successful student will be awarded "Diploma in Computer Applications and Multilingual DTP" at the end of the academic session by NCPUL jointly by DOEACC, Chandigarh and NCPUL. 

 

1.         75% and above                                        Grade A (Distinction)

2.         60% and above                                        Grade B (I Division)

3.         50% and above                                        Grade C (II Division)

4.         Less than 50% in aggregate                        has to reappear in next year.
