Dr Omar Khalidi is an Independent Scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Dr.Khalidi was born and raised in Hyderabad, Deccan. He is the author of several books in Urdu and English. Some of these are: Romance of the Golconda Diamonds, 1997, Hyderabad: After the Fall, 1988; Suqut-i Hyderabad, 1998; and Madah wa Qadah-i Deccan, 1993; Shamaa-i Furozan, 1991; Khaki and the Ethnic Violence in India, 2003; Indian Muslims Since Independence, 1996. Besides these books, he is the author of numerous journal articles.
