NCPUL is the principal Urdu publication house under the Government of India. The publications of NCPUL have been rated very high in the academic circles.

The focus of publication programme remains on production of quality children literature and textbooks for Urdu medium schools. The most important activity under publication is making available authentic texts produced during last 300 years of evolution of Urdu poetry and prose.Production Section of the Council is responsible for printing of course materials, books and magazines published by the Council to promote Urdu, Persian and Arabic literature and classics. The Council in pursuance of the objective "to take action for making available in Urdu language, the knowledge of scientific and technological development as well as knowledge of ideas evolved in the modern context" has embarked upon production of books covering all aspects of society.

Request for printing is received from Concerned Section along with Forwarding Form. Pricing of Publication is done by calculating the cost of printing, designing, scanning, plate making, negative making, etc.

For children literature, the cost is kept as same and for other publications; the cost is kept as double of the costing. Hard Copy along with the Soft Copy (where reqd.) is sent to the Press (approved through open tender) for printing.

Printing material suppliers (approved through open tender) like papers are also asked to supply the material directly to the press. The Press shares 5-10 copies of the book/magazine as Advance Copy for approval.
Once approved, all copies are printed and sent to the Sales Counter/Storage or in the concerned section.
